MBF = minimum breaking force at the stated wire tensile grade (N/mm²). Weights are nominal. Compacted rope is supplied with a steel core; the plastic-injected option adds a polymer layer between the outer strands and the core. Diameters outside 14–80 mm and non-standard grades are manufactured to order — request a quote.

About this construction

What does "compacted" mean?

The strands are drawn or rolled after stranding, flattening the outer wires. That increases metallic area, raising breaking force, and creates a smoother outer surface that resists abrasion and spreads drum pressure.

How much stronger is 6×K36 than 6×36?

At 32 mm, 1960 grade: 6×K36 gives 886 kN against roughly 715 kN for the equivalent round-strand rope — around 20% more, at the same diameter.

When is the plastic-injected core worth it?

On multi-layer drums and high-cycle duty. The polymer layer distributes internal pressure, reduces strand-on-strand wear and holds lubricant in the core, which typically shows up as longer service life rather than higher strength.

Can I fit 6×K36 without changing my sheaves?

Usually yes, since the diameter is unchanged. Check your sheave groove condition first — a groove worn to the old rope's profile will wear a new compacted rope quickly.

Applications

Higher force at the same diameter

Compacting the strands flattens the outer wire surface and increases the metallic cross-section, so 6×K36 carries more load at a given diameter than round-strand rope — and the larger contact area spreads pressure on drums and sheaves, extending the life of both.

Manufacturing

Drawn, stranded and closed in-house

Every rope starts as Baosteel or Shagang wire rod and runs through our own servo-driven drawing and planetary stranding machines. German Fosser lubricant is applied at closing, and each rope is tensile tested against its declared breaking force before it ships.
