Corporate Profile
TJ Steel Rope is the export name of Jiangsu Tongjiang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., a wire rope manufacturer in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. The company has been making steel wire rope since 1987 and took its current legal name in 2017. About 80 people work at the 33,536 m² plant on Tongda Road, across manufacturing, technical and sales.
The range covers most of what a lifting or drilling operation needs: general purpose 6- and 8-strand line-contact rope, compacted-strand and rotation-resistant constructions, and specialised mining and API-standard drilling rope. Rope goes to construction machinery OEMs, port and terminal operators, offshore and marine contractors, oil and gas operators, mining companies and distributors, in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America and Australia, and to more than twenty provinces inside China.

Manufacturing Capability

The whole production sequence happens in Nantong: wire drawing, strand twisting, rope closing. Sixty-five major machines, one site, nothing subcontracted. There is also an independent R&D division with its own experimental and test facilities, including torque and rotation test equipment built in-house and a fatigue qualification procedure for crane rope.
Nantong is a coastal development city on the Yangtze, just south of the Sutong Bridge and close to both the airport and the Xinchang Railway. Locals call the region "Northern Shanghai". For an overseas buyer it means a factory visit is straightforward and containers do not travel far to reach a port.
Every rope is tensile tested against its declared minimum breaking force before it ships. Lifting and rotation-resistant products additionally go through a formal torque and rotation check on Tongjiang's own equipment.
Standard catalog constructions usually come out of stock. The factory keeps around 4,000 tons of finished rope year round for exactly that reason. Custom and OEM orders (non-standard constructions, diameters, cores, coatings, or buyer-specified lengths and marking) are scheduled against production load, and the lead time is confirmed with the quote.
Quality and after-sales

Tongjiang holds four management-system certifications from CICC: ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 14001:2015 for environment, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, and ISO 50001:2018 for energy. The GB/T equivalents are held alongside them.
For marine work there is a Certificate of Works Approval from China Classification Society, covering single-layer rope from 10 mm to 80 mm and rotation-resistant rope from 10 mm to 52 mm, at grades from 1570 to 2160 N/mm². CCS audits the factory unannounced once a year.
There is also a CE technical-file verification from Ente Certificazione Macchine in Italy, confirming that documentation for rope from 6 mm to 80 mm complies with EN ISO 12100 and EN 12385-1 under the Machinery Directive. It assesses the documentation, not the product, and it accompanies Tongjiang's own EC Declaration of Conformity instead of replacing it.
Rope is manufactured to EN 12385, ASTM A1023, YB/T 5359 and GB/T 8918, with API RP 9A constructions for oil and gas.
Shipments can carry mill certificates, quality certification documents and third-party test or inspection reports where a buyer needs them. Technical data sheets and breaking force tables are available for every construction, which is usually what an engineering team asks for first.
Export markets
Southeast Asia. Construction machinery, ports and marine lifting, which matches where the region's heavy-equipment demand sits.
Middle East. Oil and gas and offshore platform work first, ports and construction machinery after, supported by API RP 9A drilling rope and CCS approved marine product.
North America. Mining, construction machinery and oil and gas, served by the shovel, dragline and API-standard drilling lines.
Australia. Mostly mining. Electric shovel, dragline and bucket-wheel excavator rope for large surface operations.
Inside China, Tongjiang sells across more than twenty provinces.
Distributors and partners
Tongjiang works with distributors, trading companies and agents across its four priority export regions. A local partner brings market reach, language and after-sales proximity that direct export from Nantong cannot match on its own.
If you want to discuss distribution or agency in your market, see the Distributor Program page or contact the sales team.
