Manufacturing Capability
Tongjiang's Nantong facility occupies 33,536 square meters and houses the complete production sequence for the company's product range (wire drawing, strand twisting, and rope closing) across 65 major pieces of production equipment. The company maintains an independent R&D division with in-house experimental and testing facilities, including proprietary torque and rotation testing equipment and a dedicated fatigue-qualification procedure for crane wire rope.
The facility sits in Nantong, a national coastal development city on the Yangtze River, positioned south of the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge and close to both Nantong Airport and the Xinchang Railway. That combination of water, land, and air access has earned the region the nickname "Northern Shanghai" and gives overseas buyers convenient routes for factory visits and outbound container shipment.
Every rope Tongjiang produces undergoes tensile testing to confirm compliance with its declared minimum guaranteed breaking force before shipment, and lifting or rotation-resistant products go through a formal torque/rotation verification procedure on the company's own testing equipment. For standard product-line orders, Tongjiang draws on roughly 4,000 tons of finished-goods inventory maintained year-round, which supports faster dispatch on catalog constructions and diameters. Custom and OEM orders (non-standard constructions, diameters, core types, coatings, or buyer-specified length and marking) are scheduled according to configuration scope and the factory's production load at the time of order confirmation.
Business Scope
Tongjiang's commercial offering covers four areas:
Wire rope products and custom production. The product range includes galvanized, bright (ungalvanized), compacted-strand, steel-core, fiber-core, parallel-lay, and Euro-standard wire rope, in constructions from 4-strand through 6-, 7-, 8-, 18-, 19-, 24-, and 35-strand geometries, at diameters from 6mm to 80mm and minimum breaking grades of 1770, 1960, and 2160. Individual constructions are available for integration into existing equipment, and custom runs are available for OEM and project supply. See Browse All Wire Rope Products for the full catalogue.
OEM and custom manufacturing. Tongjiang manufactures to non-standard specifications, including custom construction, diameter, core type, surface coating, lay type and direction, length, and marking. Guy wire and other application-specific rope can be manufactured directly from buyer-supplied engineering drawings.
Technical advisory and order support. Tongjiang evaluates rope selection across strength, rotation resistance, fatigue resistance, wear and friction resistance, and corrosion resistance, and can supply fatigue test data to help buyers choose the right construction for demanding applications. A structured technical intake is completed before production begins on every order. It covers application, length and tolerance, diameter, construction, grade, core type, coating, lay type and direction, minimum breaking force, end-finish, packaging, marking, and any third-party certification requirement.
Industry and OEM collaboration. Since 2022, Tongjiang has supplied wire rope directly to three of China's largest heavy-equipment manufacturers (Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion, and XCMG) for construction machinery, port, mining, offshore, oil and gas, and metallurgical applications. A documented example is the Sany SR265 rotary drilling rig project at Suzhou North Station, where 2,120 meters of TG32mm 916 EPIWRC 1960 rope was installed across 38 pile foundations over a 27-day program, with no issues reported. See Case Studies for further examples.
Quality and After-Sales Framework
Tongjiang's management systems are certified to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety), with GB/T equivalents also held, alongside CE marking and CCS (China Classification Society) marine approval. Products are manufactured to EN 12385, ASTM A1023, YB/T 5972, and GB/T 8918. This combination of certifications is a relevant credential for buyers in institutional procurement, government-linked infrastructure projects, and marine or offshore operations that require documented quality-system compliance and classification society sign-off.
Shipments can be accompanied by mill certificates, product quality certification documents, and third-party test or inspection reports where required by the buyer. Technical data sheets and minimum breaking force / Working Load Limit tables are available for every construction to support engineering integration and compliance documentation on the buyer's side.
Export Markets and Regional Focus
Southeast Asia: construction machinery, port, and marine/offshore lifting applications are Tongjiang's primary use cases in this region, matching the area's port infrastructure and heavy-equipment demand.
Middle East: oil and gas and offshore platform applications are the primary focus, alongside port and construction machinery demand, supported by API RP 9A-compliant drilling rope and CCS-approved marine product.
North America: mining, construction machinery, and oil and gas are the primary applications, served by Tongjiang's shovel, dragline, and API-standard drilling rope lines.
Australia: mining is the dominant application. Electric shovel, dragline, and bucket-wheel excavator rope cover large-scale surface mining operations.
Domestically, Tongjiang's rope is sold across more than twenty provinces in China.
Distributor and Partner Programme
Tongjiang works with distributors, trading companies, and agents in its priority export regions (Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America, and Australia), where a local partner can provide the market reach, language capability, and after-sales proximity that direct export from Nantong cannot fully replicate on its own. For enquiries about distribution or agency arrangements in your market, see Distributor Program or contact our sales team via the Contact page.
