18×7 Non-Rotating Wire Rope

18×7 Non-Rotating Wire Rope is a non-rotating rope construction, available in 18×7, 18×19S, 18×19W variants.

Applications requiring rotation resistance: tower cranes, mobile cranes, rotary drilling rigs, marine cranes. 

Specifications

Diameter: 6–80 mm (see table for this construction's range). Core: fiber (FC) or independent steel (IWRC), plastic-injected on request. Wire grade: 1770, 1960 or 2160 N/mm². Finish: bright or galvanized. Lay: right or left hand, regular or Lang's. Manufactured to EN 12385, ASTM A1023, YB/T 5359 and GB/T 8918. HS code 7312.10.

Packing & Delivery

Supplied on wooden or steel reels to 3,000 m, or cut to your required lengths. MOQ 1,000 m, negotiable. Packed for sea freight and shipped CIF. Lead time confirmed at quotation. Payment 30% deposit with balance before shipment.

Manufactured under ISO 9001:2015, with ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 management systems certified by CICC. CCS Works Approval held for marine rope, 10–80 mm. Every shipment ships with a mill certificate and test report. Additional documentation available on request.

About this construction

Is 18×7 the same as 19×7?

They're closely related rotation-resistant constructions. 18×7 has 18 strands laid over an independent core; 19×7 counts the core strand in the designation. Check which your machine's manual specifies, and we'll confirm the equivalent.

Can I use 18×7 on a multi-layer drum?

Rotation-resistant rope is more sensitive to crushing than compacted constructions. For heavy multi-layer spooling, a compacted 19×K7 usually gives longer service life — tell us your drum arrangement and we'll advise.

When should I choose 18×7 over 19×K7?

18×7 gives good rotation resistance at lower cost. 19×K7 gives higher breaking force at the same diameter plus better crush and abrasion resistance, which pays back on demanding duty cycles.

Do both ends need to be fixed?

Rotation-resistant rope should never be allowed to spin freely under load. Follow the manufacturer's termination guidance, and use a swivel only where the rope is rated for it.

Applications

Built for rotation-resistant lifts

18×7 uses two opposing strand layers so torque from the outer layer cancels the one beneath it. That keeps a load from spinning on a single-part line — the reason it's specified for tower cranes, mobile cranes, rotary drilling rigs and marine cranes.

Drawn, stranded and closed in-house

Every rope starts as Baosteel or Shagang wire rod and runs through our own servo-driven drawing and planetary stranding machines. German Fosser lubricant is applied at closing, and each rope is tensile tested against its declared breaking force before it ships.

Reels run to 3,000 m, with custom lengths cut to order. Every shipment carries a mill certificate and test report, packed for sea freight and shipped CIF from the Yangtze Delta.
