About this construction

How does 24W×K7 compare to 19×K7?

More strands and more capacity. Twenty-four in opposing layers cancel torque better than nineteen, and the breaking force is around 10% higher at the same diameter. 19×K7 is the lower-cost choice where neither difference is decisive.

And against the plain 24W×7?

Compaction is the difference. Same strand count and rotation behaviour, but roughly 15% more breaking force at a given diameter plus better resistance to drum crushing. If your rope is retiring from crush damage rather than fatigue, this is the upgrade.

Where does it sit in the non-rotating range?

Between 19×K7 and the 35-strand constructions. It suits tower cranes, mobile cranes, rotary drilling rigs and marine cranes at moderate lifting heights where you need both rotation resistance and load capacity.

Does it handle multi-layer drums?

Yes, and better than most rotation-resistant ropes. The compacted surface spreads pressure over a wider contact area rather than concentrating it on the wire crowns.

Selecting 24-strand compacted rope

Steadier loads, more capacity

Twenty-four Warrington strands cancel torque more completely than an 18- or 19-strand rope, and compacting them adds breaking force without changing the diameter. At 30 mm, 1960 grade, that's 723 kN against 653 kN for 19×K7 — same rotation resistance argument, more load.

Manufacturing

Drawn, stranded and closed in-house

Every rope starts as Baosteel or Shagang wire rod and runs through our own servo-driven drawing and planetary stranding machines. German Fosser lubricant is applied at closing, and each rope is tensile tested against its declared breaking force before it ships.
